Taken down, processed, re-hung.
Upholstery, Carpet & Curtain Care
This is the clearest example of the two divisions working together in a home. The cleaning partner attends and takes down; the textiles are processed at a Laundry Khalas partner plant in the same territory; the cleaning partner re-hangs.
Two partners, one client, one invoice.
Treated on site
- Sofa and upholstery extraction and shampoo
- Carpet and rug extraction
- Mattress treatment and sanitisation
- Stain and odour treatment where treatable
Taken away and processed
- Curtains and drapes, taken down and re-hung
- Loose covers and cushion covers
- Blinds, where the fabric permits processing
- Rugs requiring plant treatment rather than on-site extraction
Fabric types and the method each takes
| Material | Method | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Cotton and linen covers | Taken down, plant-processed, re-hung | Shrinkage risk assessed before removal |
| Synthetic upholstery | Hot-water extraction on site | Fastest drying, least risk |
| Wool and wool blends | Low-moisture extraction or encapsulation | Over-wetting causes shrinkage and browning |
| Leather | Cleaned and conditioned, never extracted | Routed to the leather specialist where damaged |
| Silk and delicate drapes | Plant dry-cleaning only | Never wet-cleaned on site |
| Mattresses | Extraction and sanitisation, both faces | Dry time planned around occupancy |
Take-down and re-hang, in practice
- Fittings and hook order are photographed before removal, so drapes return as they hung
- Linings and blackout layers are processed separately where they differ in fabric
- Tracks and poles are cleaned while the fabric is away β the only time they are reachable
- Typical turnaround is three to five working days from take-down to re-hang
- A temporary privacy solution is offered where the window is overlooked
